The Team
Liam Moore
Head Coach & Owner
Liam’s passion for sport, exercise and fitness has led his path in life; from representing and captaining Gloucestershire County cricket team and playing semi-professional rugby, to a successful career teaching physical education and now working as a strength, conditioning and CrossFit coach. Liam has trained consistently for over 30 years, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience, and understanding what does and does not work.
After seeking an alternative style of training to that offered by a traditional gym, Liam discovered CrossFit in 2008. He started completing CrossFit’s online ‘workout of the day’ (WOD) and loved the challenge, variety of workouts and most of all, the results.
As the CrossFit industry travelled over from the USA and opened gyms around the UK, Liam became a member and was instantly hooked on the exceptional quality of the training and coaching, and new friendships made with likeminded people. So much so, that in 2013 he left his career as a secondary school Head of Physical Education and opened CrossFit Sunbury. He hasn’t looked back since.
A true labour of love, CrossFit Sunbury has become the hub of the community and boasts a fantastic member base from all backgrounds, ages and abilities. Seeing the members’ physical and mental health improve from training consistently over a matter of weeks and months is the biggest satisfaction for Liam;
“It is incredibly satisfying to see a new member grow in confidence, skill and ability over time. The science of what we do here at the gym means we are able to engineer steady, consistent progress, and I love helping members achieve their goals by paying specific focus on gains in strength and technique that ultimately translate to stunning improvements in their fitness, that they’d have thought impossible at the start.”
At 48 years old, Liam is the strongest and fittest he has ever been, demonstrating how brilliant CrossFit’s programming really is. Liam trains 5-6 times a week, designing and testing the class workouts in readiness for his members.

Dave Evans
Coach
Dave has a wealth of experience coaching and teaching others, having progressed from a career as a PE teacher all the way through to Head Teacher over a 20 year period. Prior to becoming a teacher, Dave enjoyed a successful 12 year career as a professional rugby league player . During this time, he had the opportunity to learn from world class coaches and mentors.
Dave continued to play an active role within London Broncos after his professional playing career came to an end. He held the role of Head Coach and Academy Director, and in addition was consultant defence coach for England Rugby Union preparing for the under 20’s World Cup, and a Coach Educator for the Rugby Football League.
After retirement from professional sport, Dave kept fit with the usual gym routine, but felt like he was getting stale and wanted a new challenge and to be a part of a club or community like in his playing days.
After being introduced to CrossFit 2-3 years ago, Dave quickly became hooked on the style of training and loved the challenging nature of the sessions as well the community aspect of everyone achieving together no matter what level of fitness or experience. Dave has competed in the National Fitness Games finals in the Masters division and has competed in several team competitions and is looking forward to developing his coaching skills further at CrossFit Sunbury.
